This course aims to provide basic counselling skills to clergy and lay ministers who have a pastoral ministry.
The course covers the following : the role and function of lay counsellors; confidentiality; legal issues affecting lay counselling; referrals; listening skills; the difference between empathy and sympathy; structuring a counselling session; transference; psychological first aid; self care
Travelling costs, outside the main Durban area, and catering costs are for the client’s account.
This is a 2 day course, which can be held at a venue of your choice.
